2 Dollar Model

Phil Utech at a BM-VM meeting showing a model of a set which will be built for "She Loves me, She Loves Me Not."  The model was built out of cardboard, and hot glue.  When the model was backlit and photographed it was quite dramatic.  Photo by JPW

The Mirramid Project

A unique projection system designed and demonstrated by UB School of Architecture student Kendra Hayes.  The camera filmed several street corners over a twelve hour period.  The system gives a viewer a way of seeing an object from four different angles in realtime.

FRED CALANDRELLI

This filmmaker and BM-VM member talks about the recent props he designed and built for three commercials he produced for an appliance dealership in Niagara Falls, NY

"Thinkin' outside the box"

A microwave prop from the "George's Appliance" spots.  Each "hero" prop built for the commercials had to be able to clearly show what the store was selling.  The audience needs to know its a microwave right away, but it also needs to believe its a "device" spys would use.  Fred did a great job balancing the two needs very well.

The screens were made from white bed sheets stretched over extruded aluminium frames.
